Produced by The Ginger Twins and mixed by 14-time Grammy Award winning producer/mixer Ron Saint Germain (Mick Jagger, U2, Bad Brains, Tool, Nels Cline, Soundgarden, Jimi Hendrix, Ornette Coleman, Smokey Robinson), the Honey Straws features members and collaborators of acclaimed bands such as Swampadelica, John Ginty Band, Hazy Malaze, and Railroad Earth. Although they may have originally started life as a brief studio fling, it very quickly blossomed into a much more serious musical relationship.

Led by keyboardist and singer Damian Calcagne and guitarist Mike Buckman, and featuring Paul Kuzik on bass and Dan Fadel on drums, The Honey Straws have a unique and welcoming sound, inspired by their many diverse influences; the heavy fuzzfolk of Neil Young & Crazy Horse, the sweet harmonies of the Beatles, the sonic experimentation of Beck, and the swampy funk of The Meters, to name a few. The album features Elliott Peck (Phil Lesh, Midnight North), who weaves her beautiful vocal harmonies throughout the big Honey Straws sound, with stunning results. Also featured throughout the album is a killer three-piece horn section, orchestrated by Andy Falco's Blues Laboratory saxophonist Justin Marks, as well as percussionist extraordinaire Chuck Wood (Ghandharva).

The album features a collection of eight memorable songs, including the psychedelic rock inspired “Nah I’ma Stay In Bed”, the funky, feelgood vibes of “What’s Your Dogs Name”, a magnificent Peck/Calcagne duet on the epic “I Do”, or the Motown-themed closer “Buh Bye”, that, like a diamond, showcase many facets of sound, all waiting to take anyone that's willing to hop on, for a musical joyride...
